They’re Built for Race Day, Not Everyday
Super shoes are designed for peak performance—typically using carbon plates and advanced foams—but they’re not made for daily training and can wear out quickly with overuse.
Expect a Different Feel Underfoot
With their responsive, bouncy ride and elevated stack height, super shoes can feel unstable at first. Give yourself a few short runs to adjust before racing in them.
They Can Improve Performance—But Don’t Replace Training
Studies show super shoes can improve running economy, but they're not a shortcut. Strong training, smart pacing, and good form still matter most.
Fit and Sizing Might Vary
Super shoes often fit differently than your regular trainers. Try them on or consult size guides, especially if ordering online.
They Wear Out Faster Than Traditional Shoes
Most super shoes last around 100–200 miles, much less than traditional running shoes. Save them for race day or key workouts to get the most out of them
Start with Short, Controlled Runs
Begin by wearing your super shoes for a few easy runs or strides (1–3 miles) to get used to the feel—especially the higher stack height and carbon plate propulsion.
Use Them for Speed Workouts First
Introduce them during tempo runs, intervals, or track sessions before racing in them. This helps your muscles and tendons adapt to the increased spring and load.
Limit Mileage at First
Rotate them in sparingly—maybe once a week—to avoid overloading calves, Achilles tendons, or stabilizing muscles that aren’t used to the different mechanics.
Listen to Your Body
Super shoes can change your stride subtly. If you notice soreness in new areas, especially in your feet, calves, or lower legs, back off and allow time to recover.
Save Them for Specific Goals
Use super shoes strategically—for key workouts or races—rather than every run. This preserves their lifespan and keeps your body balanced with regular training shoes.
