7/17/27 Run Away Shoes App Update

TL,DR

• The Run Away Shoes App is going away. Our Loyalty Rewards Program is not.

• Effective July 22, 2026, the app will no longer be used for event check-ins, mileage rewards, or gift card redemption.

• You'll still earn points for attending our events. Simply sign in at fun runs and store events, and we'll add the points to your account for you.

• Race registrations for eligible Run Away Shoes events will continue to earn points automatically.

• Your Loyalty Rewards account and all of your existing points remain unchanged. You can continue earning rewards on eligible purchases just as you do today.

• No action is required. If you have the app, you can simply delete it after July 22. Your rewards account and points will not be affected.

As a small business, we are constantly evaluating what works best for both our customers and our business. While our new Loyalty Rewards Program, launched at the end of 2025, has been a wonderful fit, we've made the decision to discontinue the app portion of the program effective July 22nd.

What this means:

The app and app-associated items such as event check-ins, and mileage rewards will be discontinued effective July 22nd. You will also no longer be able to redeem reward points for gift cards directly through the app. Instead, you can access your points on our website or one of our staff members will take care of that for you.

• At fun runs and store events: For those who use the app to check in at events and earn points, don't worry—you'll still earn points for showing up! We'll have a sign-in available at the event. Simply sign in, and we'll take it from there to add the points to your Loyalty Rewards account.
• When you register for a Run Away Shoes race event: We'll use your event registration to add points to your Loyalty Rewards account.

What's staying the same? Our Loyalty Rewards Program!
You'll continue earning Loyalty Rewards on eligible purchases, and you'll still have opportunities to earn points for attending Run Away Shoes events. Just sign in with us at fun runs and store events, and we'll take it from there!

When will this change take place?
Effective July 22, 2026

Do you need to do anything?
Nope! If you currently use the Run Away Shoes app, you can remove it from your phone after July 22, 2026. Deleting the app does NOT delete your Loyalty Rewards account or any of your existing points.

• Your loyalty account is tied to your email address, so be sure to use the same email in-store and in-app to ensure receipt of points

• Points begin to accrue on the day you sign up

• Points will automatically appear on your account the day after a purchase is made

• You'll earn points for every dollar spent (pre-tax) in-store and online

• You'll earn points by checking in at participating events

• Redeem Points for Run Away Shoes digital gift cards, which can be used in-store or online

You earn points by attending Run Away Race and In-Store Events when you sign-in at the event. Here are the steps:

Prior to August 11, 2026, we used our app based system for signing in to events. To sign in now:

1. Run Away Event Races: register for the race with the same e-mail you have attached for our loyalty program. We will add points to your account. Points will be added the Monday after the race so make sure you are signed up for the loyalty program!

2. At Fun Runs and other Run Away Shoes in-store events: We will have a sign-in sheet. Please use the same name and e-mail associated with your loyalty account when you sign in. Points will be added by the Monday after the event.

Do I need an App?

No. The Run Away Shoes app and app-based event check-ins were discontinued on July 22, 2026.

Previous Run Away Shoes App Users: Deleting the app does not delete your Loyalty Rewards account or any points you have already earned. Your rewards account remains active, and you can continue earning points through eligible purchases and events.

If I was already a loyalty rewards member in the past program, do I need to join again?

Yes, this is a fresh start for everyone. It's easy to do at checkout at either of our shops. Your loyalty account is tied to your email address, so be sure to use the same email in-store and in-app to ensure receipt of points. Or, you can sign-up online. If you'd like to do that, once you have an account created on ecom, you will be good to go as long as the email is the same as the one you signed up for in-store.

Do I have access to my points?

Yes, you can access your points on our website, and can redeem on the ecomm store as well. 

Can I use my rewards online?

Yes!

Why is this loyalty program better?

You will now be able to redeem points once you qualify for a $5 gift card. Additionally, you will be able to earn points not only through your purchases but by attending events and other special offers during the year which we will announce on the app, e-mail and on social media.
