It’s that fun time of year again! Fall has come and gone, and winter is officially upon us. Believe it or not, this is one of the best seasons to run outside. I know, I know—running in 10 degrees doesn’t sound fun. But here’s the truth: just dress like it’s 20 degrees warmer. When it’s 60 out, you can only take off so much… winter actually gives you options!
Here are my favorite apparel pieces and shoes for fall and winter—starting from the feet and working our way up.
“What’s Diadora?” Glad you asked! They bring that Italian chill-meets-comfort vibe we all love. Fun to hang out in, stylish, and totally capable of running any distance.
My go-to right now. Light, fast, and it has that perfect little “cush-pop” underfoot.
This is the next shoe I’m excited to start rocking. And honestly—we have the best selection of super shoes in the Valley. If you want to learn more, come on in or give us a call. We’re always happy to help you find the right pair.
Finally,
There’s nothing more reliable than the Smartwool Light Cushion Quarter Running Sock.
But keep an eye out—Alpaca and more premium wool options are coming soon from both new and classic brands.
For both daily wear and my 5-mile runs, I live in the:
Brooks Momentum Run Pant
Yes, I wear running clothes all day. And yes, I’m still extremely professional. (Insert your laugh here!)
I slide on a pair of Smartwool briefs, which conveniently double as my warm underwear for Packers games.
Go Pack Go.
Depending on how cold it is, I rotate between:
Rabbit lightweight long sleeves (super soft and perfect for fall and spring too)
If I’m layering up, my must-haves are:
Rabbit Cocoon – my everyday mid layer
Craft Jackets – my choice for when the temps really drop
My winter rotation includes:
Smartwool Active Mitt – perfect for the colder middle-ground days
On Core Glove – great for mild days
Craft Insulated Mitt – for those super duper cold mornings
I’m a lightweight hat guy almost all the time. The On Core Beanie is my favorite—simple, light, and perfect for winter running.
