Unfortunately, our digital storefront is down for a bit of maintenance. In the meantime, feel free to shop us in-store. Please check back again soon.
Well, it has been a busy and fun first quarter of 2024.
Since this year is our 20th anniversary, (which is still crazy to think about) we have been getting in several fun branded items (many from one of our great event partners, 4imprint) ready for giving away to all. I think the favorite is the mints. We also are working to bulk up our Run Away Shoes swag in stores - come check it out. We have a few of these limited edition 20 year BOCO Gear hats being modeled by Green Bay Store Manager Colin in two great designs available for sale in both our shops.
Seroogys Valentine Run and VIP Night on Feb 2nd is one of the busiest weekends of the year for Run Away Shoes and Events. It was a smashing success. Thank you to the weather of 37 degrees and sunny and all of the great people who participated.
Though February provided us unusual warmth here in Wisconsin, my family and I took a little trip together and experienced some 80 degree miles during our first trip to Cancun.
March is always exciting with track and field kids all gearing up for the season. I love sitting around talking about the good old days and sharing experiences of past races and learning about the different high school track programs. Many of the local coaches and I competed against each other in high school, college or even worked with us at the shops at one point. There are a lot of small world experiences in the running community and we love it.
March can be a great month to start getting in those longer runs for late spring marathons and half marathons. For me, I am training for the Think Spring in De Pere and I never miss the Door County Half Marathon. I would be running the Oshkosh Half Marathon but myself and my crew are thrilled to be able to provide a safe, sound and FUN half marathon experience in Oshkosh on April 27th. Wed love for you to join us. Run Away Events has also been silently timing some of the best local events. Yes! We have event timing capabilities with our friends at MTEC timing. Another blog about the behind the scenes of an event coming soon.
My running partner and I have been running many to 9 mile routes in preparation for our upcoming races. One of my recent favorites was through Chicago which was nice to see on blustery day in late March. The best way to stay motivated to run is to sign up for events. Ever since high school Ive enjoyed racing my way into shape.
We are pretty lucky at Run Away Shoes to have many vendor reps that love running and Shoes. Ryan from Mizuno was able to join me for a run this past month. Its the best way to have a meeting, and a great opportunity to get to know who you are working with.
Were excited to be getting into group run season we have several run meet-ups and pub runs on the schedule. Check out our events page on Facebook, our website and we invite you to join our Run Away Shoes WI Strava group!
